Abstract (eng)
This diploma thesis delves into the different definitions of the term geotagging, and tries to explore its place within the different disciplines of associating data with spatio-temporal information and how it differentiates from georeferencing and geocoding. Furtheron, it goes to show the types of media that are suitable for linking to a spatial reference via geotagging, and how this can be accomplished. Then, conventional map data and data gained through geotagging are compared by utilizing different sets of rules of accuracy, with an emphasis on spatial accuracy. Finally, various uses and applications of geotagged data are shown, keeping in mind the aforementioned rules of accuracy.
