Abstract (eng)
This thesis deals with the topic of drug/addiction prevention in Islamic religious education for Muslim young people in Austria and examines the research question of what contribution Islamic religious education can make to preventing addiction among Muslim young people in Austria. An empirical study was carried out using qualitative content analysis of problem-centered interviews with students and expert interviews with a psychotherapist and an imam and religious teacher. First, a general overview of “addiction” is given. The term is viewed from different directions. Building on this, the second part deals with the topic of drugs and the various approaches and paths within the framework of prevention. The interviews are evaluated in the subsequent empirical part. After the methodological presentation, the results are presented based on the categories in the context of, among other things, dealing with addiction, addiction and religion or religious education as well as prevention, access to drugs and drugs in social media.
