Title
Surveying Students' Digital Practice
Author
Description
What do I know about students’ use of digital technologies outside the classroom in their CLIL language?
What is the potential for developing their bi- and multilingual disciplinary literacies?
This resource helps teachers explore how students use digital technologies in their daily lives—and how those practices can support bi- and multilingual disciplinary literacies in CLIL subjects.
It guides teachers to:
• Understand what out-of-school learning looks like—especially informal language use through music, gaming, videos, or social media
• Recognise the potential of these digital habits to support subject learning in more than one language
• Collect insights into learners’ digital routines using a heatmap grid and technology frequency survey
• Make connections between students’ real-world digital lives and what happens in the classroom
The goal is to bridge informal and formal learning, helping students use the language and thinking of the subject not only at school, but also through the digital spaces they already enjoy.
