Zu beachten: Der Phaidra Importer ist eine eigene Applikation, die am eigenen Rechner installiert wird Voraussetzungen, die erfüllt werden müssen: - Sie müssen vom Systemadministrator die Erlaubnis einholen, dass Sie ein Programm an Ihrem Rechner installieren dürfen (wir empfehlen die Erlaubnis schriftlich einzuholen) - Sie müssen die Nutzungsbedingungen des Zielrepository akzeptiert haben, BEVOR Sie den Phaidra Importer verwenden (konkret: in Phaidra und in Phaidra-Test anmelden und Nutzungsbedingungen akzeptieren) - Das Quellverzeichnis aus dem der Phaidra Importer Daten hochlädt, darf nur die zu verwendenden Daten enthalten in Form von entweder .jpg oder .tif. (also keine sonstigen Daten) - Der Phaidra Importer darf nicht auf dem Desktop Ihres Rechners installiert werden - Wir empfehlen dringend vor Verwendung des Phaidra-Importers uns wegen einer Schulung zu kontaktieren: phaidra@univie.ac.at Der Phaidra Importer Mit dem Phaidra Importer können Sie innerhalb des Datennetzes der Universität Wien - eigene Bücher virtuell „binden“, mit einem Inhaltsverzeichnis und Metadaten versehen. Jedes Buch und jede Seite erhalten einen permanenten Link. Das Buch kann im Bookviewer von Phaidra gelesen werden oder auch im .epub format exportiert werden. So können rasch und sicher eigene wissenschaftliche papers erstellt, archiviert und publiziert werden. - Mit Hilfe dieses Tools können durch einen einfachen Bulkupload auch rasch Collections in Phaidra erstellt werden. Der Phaidra Importer, der derzeit in den Sprachen Deutsch, Englisch und Italienisch in einer Betaversion verfügbar ist, wurde gemeinsam mit der Universität Padua entwickelt. Nach der Installation können Sie das Tool sofort verwenden. Es startet in Englisch, Sie können jedoch auch eine andere Sprache wählen, nachdem Sie den Book Importer noch einmal gestartet haben. PhaidraImporter Betaversion Purpose of the service The Phaidra Importer is a very simple tool that you can use for Creating your own “Images of Books” online, by structuring them with chapters. It allows you to assign a Permanent Identifier to both, book and pages. The Image of the produced book will be available via Phaidra Book Viewer. Creating collection of materials like collection of scientific papers or images. The digital objects are citable (Permanent Identifier) Target The target of this service are users of the System Phaidra, scientists involved in processes of digitisation, archivists, librarians or institutions that need a simple bulk-upload procedure of pictures or textes or scanned pages of traditional books. The Phaidra Importer is the ideal tool for self-archiving issues in case of collections of scientific papers. Advantages Easy to install Easy to use: you can import files, add further pages of books, insert chapters, restructure an order with very simple drag and drop functions, import .pdfs and restructure them, create collections and sub-collections, import metadatata files, export them, create images of books in .epub format or Phaidra.Book format. The implementation was carried out by an Italian company on the basis of the analysis and requirements jointly defined by the University of Padua and the University of Vienna. The project coordinator is the University of Padua. It is ready to use within the net of the University. Important notice: Make sure you are allowed to ingest data into the system ( -> start first Phaidra and accept the terms of use). You can now install the Phaidra Importer. Once installed you can start the application. It will start in English. You can select another language. To save these settings you have to start the application a second time, otherwise you can go on with the user-interface in English.
